Terms of Service
Last updated: September 22, 2025
Effective Date: May 1, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") describe your rights and responsibilities when using the Remory mobile app ("App"), developed and operated by Remory AS ("Remory", "we", or "us").
By creating an account or using the App in any way, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who Can Use Remory
To use Remory, you must be at least 13 years old.
You agree that:
- The information you provide is accurate.
- You’ll keep your account details up to date.
- You’re responsible for anything that happens under your account.
You can’t transfer your account to someone else or use someone else’s account without permission.
2. What Remory Is For
Remory is a space for remembering people who’ve passed away, sharing memories, and offering support through hugs and greetings. You agree to use the App in ways that are respectful, safe, and in line with this purpose.
You agree not to:
- Post harmful, offensive, or illegal content.
- Pretend to be someone you’re not.
- Use bots or automated tools to interact with the App.
- Try to break, hack, or interfere with the App’s functionality or security.
We may remove content or suspend accounts if these rules are broken.
3. What You Share
When you create posts — such as photos, greetings, hugs, or memorial pages — you keep full ownership of your content. Always.
By posting, you give Remory permission to:
- Display your content in the App.
- Store it so it works with features like sharing or memorial galleries.
- Share it with others as part of the App’s social and community functions.
We never use your content in ads or marketing, and we never sell it.
You also promise that:
- You have the rights to what you post (e.g., you took the photo or have permission).
- You’re not posting anything that violates someone’s privacy or copyright.
4. Privacy and Data Use
We care deeply about privacy. We only collect what’s necessary to make the app work — like your name, phone number, birth year and email address — and we protect it using modern security methods.
We never sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We collect anonymous usage data to improve performance and usability. This information is not linked to your name, account, or device.
For more details, read our Privacy Policy.
5. Reporting and Moderation
If you see content that’s inappropriate, harmful, or offensive, you can report it directly from the App.
We review reports promptly and may remove content or restrict accounts to keep the Remory community safe and respectful.
6. Ending or Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account anytime in the App settings.
When you delete your account:
- Your public content (greetings, hugs, etc.) may be removed or anonymized.
- Some information may be kept for legal or technical reasons for up to 30 days, and then permanently deleted (e.g., if there’s a reported issue).
We may also suspend or remove your account if you break these Terms or if we’re required to do so by law.
7. Ownership and Rights
All parts of the App — including its design, features, code, and branding — belong to Remory AS. You may not copy, reuse, or redistribute any part of the App unless we give you written permission.
Your own posts and content always remain yours.
8. Changes and Updates
We’re constantly working to make Remory better. That means we may add, remove, or update features. Some features might still be in development or marked as “coming soon.”
We may also update these Terms. If we make major changes, we’ll let you know via the App or by email. If you keep using the App after that, it means you accept the new version.
9. No Guarantees (But We Try Our Best)
Remory is offered as it is — we do our best to keep it reliable and available, but we can’t promise it’ll always be perfect.
We can’t guarantee:
- That the App will always be available or error-free.
- That it will meet your expectations in every situation.
10. Limiting Our Liability
If something goes wrong while using the App, Remory won’t be responsible for:
- Loss of data, time, or income.
- Things beyond our control, like outages or bugs.
Our total liability, if any, is limited to what you’ve paid to use the App — which, in most cases, is nothing.
